Shirayuki Lindblom, a girl with no magical powers, has joined the military to avenge her murdered mother.
One day, she receives a mysterious letter. The letter, from an unknown sender, contains information about her mother's killer,
as well as an admissions guide from Iris Academy in Hinomoto. After much deliberation,
Shirayuki learns the truth and decides to enroll in Iris Academy to avenge her mother.
Meanwhile, Kuroba Yozuru, a girl with extraordinary magical powers,
has a past where she let her magical powers go out of control in her hometown several years ago, causing tragedy.
She enrolled in Iris Academy to learn how to control her own magical powers and to seize her future as an agent.
Shirayuki and Yozuru, who have completely different goals, meet and become "buddies."
